There is plenty to do at Lipno, even when the snow conditions are not ideal.
You definitely won’t be bored at our resort in bad weather, and there’s plenty to do here in winter even without snow. We will entertain children with an animation program and a giant interactive Lego exhibition. You can relax in the wellness center, work out in the fitness center or on the sports grounds. You can organize a bowling tournament with your children. And if that’s not enough, we will be happy to lend you bikes or snowshoes for trips around the area.
You would be hard pressed to find a sports hall in the Lipno area as well equipped as ours. Professional squash and badminton courts are available, where you can play in pairs or organize a tournament for the whole group. You can also test your strength on four bowling lanes, play table tennis, or work out in the fully equipped fitness center.

Our beach with its gentle slope into the water is particularly popular in winter with hardy swimmers who can cool off here.
If you don’t feel confident enough, there is a special cage in the frozen Lipno Lake right next to the ferry in Frymburk. Enthusiasts of winter swimming, whose numbers are growing, can be sure that they won’t sink under the ice. Come and boost your immunity at Lipno.
Not feeling confident? No worries. You can sign up for a cold water swimming course, where they’ll teach you everything you need to know.
Work out in a spacious fitness center with state-of-the-art weight training equipment and a view of Lipno. The 124 m² area features a range of high-quality machines for isolated training of all muscle groups. The centerpiece is a multifunctional weight training tower with weights up to 125 kg. There is also space for stretching with dumbbells, gym balls, overballs, TRX, and other exercise equipment.

When there is no snow
Set out on the treetop trail. You can look forward to views of Lake Lipno, the Šumava countryside, and, in good weather, even the peaks of the Austrian Alps. The trail includes educational elements, adrenaline sections for children, and the longest dry toboggan run in the Czech Republic.
If you are looking for fun and adrenaline, then you definitely should not miss the bobsleigh track at Lipno. It is 1 km long and boasts 21 turns, 2 tunnels, and terrain breaks. You ride down the track on special bobsleighs, where you control the speed yourself using a lever.
Set out to explore Český Krumlov. You will surely be impressed by the permanent exhibition on life and art in the monasteries of Krumlov, set in the former convent of the Minorite monastery. Children can enjoy tours, activities, and workshops here.

Discover the beauty of butterflies in a fantasy world. Papilonia Lipno is a unique place that will make your stay in Lipno more enjoyable in any weather. When the weather is nice, you can visit us on your way to the water, as you will pass the Lipno butterfly house just before arriving at the beach. However, Papilonia can also brighten up a day that is not at all conducive to outdoor activities. Your children can also let off steam in the Hopsárium, which is right next door.
Do you enjoy cycling or rollerblading? The lake cycle and inline trail with a perfect surface leads from Lipno nad Vltavou to Frymburk. The 19-kilometer route follows the left bank of Lipno and offers beautiful views of the lake, varied swings, turns, short climbs, and safe small descents.

Discover the magic of winter cross-country trails in the heart of South Bohemia. When snow conditions are right, groomed cross-country trails will take you through the picturesque countryside of Lipno nad Vltavou, Frymburk, and Pasečná. Passionate cross-country skiers will also appreciate the excellent accessibility of the cross-country trails in Šumava and Austria. Here you can enjoy not only sports, but also unforgettable views and cultural experiences. We also recommend trying out the cross-country trails in Pasečná and Frymburk.
The huge surface area of the Lipno reservoir right next to our resort provides excellent conditions for skating on the frozen surface during the winter months. Lipno freezes over from December to March. When safety conditions are met (ice thickness of 18 cm), skaters and cross-country skiers have access to regularly maintained trails and ovals in Horní Planá, Frymburk, and Lipno nad Vltavou, which are interconnected when conditions are favorable.
Just beyond the Zadní Zvonková – Schöneben border crossing, at a favorable altitude of around 1,000 meters above sea level, lies one of Austria’s finest cross-country skiing areas outside the Alps, with stable snow conditions and daily grooming of the trails.

The Schöneben-Hochficht cross-country skiing area offers a 78.9 km network of trails for classic and skate skiing. The cross-country trails at Schöneben offer easy circuits suitable for recreational skiers as well as more hilly trails that will satisfy more experienced skiers. Especially for skating style, the cross-country trails at Schöneben are a real paradise that you won’t find just anywhere.
